Renovation on a Passenger Boarding Bridge can involve a new bridge deck, upgrading the substructure, complete renovation including coating or adjusting the technical installation. We can also upgrade the existing operating system to the latest version (PLC) with the corresponding control panel.
The process
- Listening, advising and discussing LoR (List of Requirements) with the client
- Inspecting the existing passenger bridges on site
- Drawing up inspection report including (detailed) photos
- Independent advice and recommendations
- Drawing up a plan for implementation and realisation
Control systems on board passenger bridges vary from electro-hydraulic to electromechanical, and in some cases a combination of both. Anton Air Support can design a new and reliable system to extend the PBB life cycle by many years.
A small investment not only extends the life cycle of the PBB, but Anton Air Support, together with the client, also contributes to CO2 and environmental objectives. Renovation, environmental and social costs result in 38% lower costs compared to investing in a completely new PBB.
Our experience
Among other things, Anton Air Support has renovated Passenger Boarding Bridges at Leeds Bradford Airport, Oslo Airport and Schiphol. From a complete renovation of the PBBs including control system to the replacement of various parts, Anton Air Support has seen it all.
Full PBB renovation at Leeds Bradford Airport
On behalf of Leeds Bradford Airport, we completely renovated two 18-year-old passenger bridges. The entire cabling was replaced, all sensors were renewed and the bridges were given a completely new entrance.
Thorough PBB renovation at Oslo Airport
Anton Air Support also works in extreme-cold temperatures. “Nose Loaders” (special type PBB) have been renovated on behalf of Oslo Airport. Due to the extremely low temperature in the winter, it is necessary to ensure that PBBs remain safe and operational, especially during the harsh winters.
