Anton Constructiewerken produced a steel structure on which a stainless steel duct was placed. This makes it possible to install drip collectors between the chimneys of two cooling chambers of a factory.
These filters reduce exhaust emissions. The chimneys are 11 metres high and weigh over 4 tonnes: a big job!
Each cooling chamber had its own separate chimney for this purpose. The design came from the client, and the detail engineering and calculations were carried out by colleagues from Harder Constructie- & Advies bureau.
Installation on the roof required a factory shutdown, so that work could be carried out safely and the chimneys could be taken out of service. The limited time available for implementation required good preparation and tight planning.
The installation was installed using a 700-tonne crane equipped with a 90-metre-long Jib and immediately fitted with the necessary stairs and landings. Maintenance can now be carried out safely.
