Anton Civiel and Infra was asked by the municipality of Purmerend to replace the quay structures of diver bridges. After inspection, aging was found to be irreversible. In total this concerned approximately 225 m1 spread over six locations in Purmerend Zuid.

The municipality’s engineering firm had already created a reference design for the new sheet pile structure and purchased a fiberglass-reinforced sheet pile board. This project is a pilot, where the municipality was specifically looking for a contractor. A contractor for approachable and constructive cooperation, essential for the challenges that might arise during implementation. The renovated quay structure will be equipped with a hot-dip galvanized deck railing.

The locations of the bridges make this project a logistical challenge, with special attention to the surroundings and minimizing disruption. Thanks to the project teams, who worked together seamlessly, it was a pleasure to collaborate with the colleagues.
