More and more distribution centers in the Netherlands are being built with (partially) super-flat floors. Not surprisingly, because to ensure safety in high-rise warehouses and keep speed high in narrow aisles for trucks, for example, a super-flat company floor finish is a must. The NEN2747 divides the flatness of concrete floors into classes (1 to 7). Whereas most manufacturers can handle class 7, 6 and 5 without any problems, class 3, 2 and 1 require specific knowledge. To guarantee an optimal flatness, floor load, construction speed and price everything has to be right: from pile foundation to floor thickness, concrete composition, reinforcement, material and people.
