For winterizing the railway tracks and equipment Anton Rail & Infrastructure has installed an anti-icing system in Hoofddorp. This system ensures that no snow and ice occurs beneath the trains. The risk of big snow drifts and ice blocks breaking off from the carriages when the train passes through a switch, is considerably reduced. This also decreases the chance of switch point failures. In two out of service periods lasting three hours the project was completed for client VolkerRail . In that period, the entire system was mounted track and welded liquid tight.
