Anton Construction & Concrete Engineering makes the entire concrete structure for a new gas container at Tata Steel IJmuiden. The new gas holder will be twice as large as the current one and has a capacity of 50,000 cubic meters. ”As a result, the coke gas can be used more effectively and less has to be flared. That is good news for the environment and the environment”, according to Hans van den Berg, director of Tata Steel.
The concrete structure consists of a basement of 15x8x6 meters and a tank floor of 2,400 m2. In total, 2,200 cubic meters of concrete were needed.
