650 tons of steel for main support construction Hudson’s Bay Amstelveen

The former V&D complex in the center of Amstelveen is being redeveloped into a new department store for Hudson’s Bay. The new warehouse of more than 21,000 m2 comprises six storeys of retail space, from basement to the 4th floor. The existing building has been demolished to the concrete skeleton and is now being rebuilt.

Anton Steel is responsible for the design, production, conservation and complete assembly of the main load construction. It is about 650 tons of steel. The components of the steel structure are composed with the data from the drawing by skilled personnel. Our own assembly teams assemble the steel themselves in order to realize a fast, perfect and well-planned and correct assembly. The employees are all VCA-certified and all have the certificates required for lifting steel constructions and for controlling forklift trucks and aerial work platforms. Safety on the construction site is paramount. Mid-March 2018, this project will be completed and Anton Steel will be able to add this great job to its CV.
