Anton Rail & Infra has demolished a former train station residence in Zaandam. This building was connected at the rear to a ProRail technical room, which was to remain functional during and after the work.
Asbestos was present in the building, which was cleaned up before demolition work.
Architecturally refurbishing technical room
After the demolition of the residential building, Anton Rail & Infra has started renovating the remaining technical space.
These activities mainly consisted of the installation of a new outer facade, the preservation of existing facades and the replacement of the roofing. New electrical installations have also been installed.
After the work on the building was completed, the outside area was refurbished and equipped with element pavement.
The end result is a completely refurbished building with an extended lifespan of many years.
