The escalator for the new UKT terminal is being constructed <\/strong>
\n 
\nAfter months of preliminary work, Anton Rail & Infra has started building the first riser to the new UK terminal. An escalator will be built from the UK terminal between the new UK terminal and platform 6\/along track 15 for the Eurostar to London.
\n 
\nDuring the night of 2 to 3 September, the concrete beams of about 12 metres and 8.1 tonnes were hoisted in for this purpose. The beams were brought in via the track bed between platforms 5 and 6 by two car-loading cranes. It is possible to drive there because the tracks have been removed for another project to rebuild Amsterdam Centraal.

NS is currently building the new UK Terminal in the former Amstel Passage for passengers on the Eurostar train to London. On behalf of ProRail, Anton Rail Infra will construct the risers from the UK Terminal to platform 6.
\nThe current stairs and escalator from the mid-tunnel will be swapped and the escalator entrance in the new situation will be accessed from the UK terminal instead of the mid-tunnel. In the design, existing (rolling) stairs are relocated and reused incorporated into the listed building.
\n 
\nThe rise points are located on the separation between the monumental station and the IJ-hall which presents the necessary technical challenges. In addition, other projects are being realised by several other contractors on the platform, in the railway trough and in the UK Terminal, making this project a major logistical challenge in the already limited space.
\n 
\nAnton Rail & Infra is already a well-known contractor at our capital’s central station because of the restoration of the Cuypers Building and the East Wing. This project and Anton Rail & Infra’s presence in the centre of Amsterdam will now be followed up with the adoption of project \u2018realise rise points and secure platform\u2019.
