Goed nieuws voor de leeuwen, want dit nieuwe verblijf is in oppervlakte ruim tien keer zo groot als het huidige verblijf.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Het leeuwenverblijf bestaat naast het buitenverblijf uit een bezoekerstunnel: een overdekte passage. Deze passage is volledig van beton gemaakt. Door de overdekte passage loopt een wandelpad voor bezoekers die omringd is door twee watervallen. Een nieuwe waterval en een bestaande waterval, die weer een mooie centrale plaats geeft gekregen. Via verschillende doorkijkjes zijn de leeuwen dan vanuit alle hoeken te zien.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Betonwerk<\/strong><br \/>\nAnton Bouw & Betontechniek is een periode van 6 maanden bezig geweest met het aanpassen van de bestaande fundatie van algazellenverblijf, aanbrengen van de tunnelwanden, cre\u00ebren van het tunneldek met de luifel (20 m1 vrije overspanning door de voortoog van de vloer), betonwerk van de beek, keerwanden onder de grond en als fundatie voor het hekwerk, prefab betontrappen en geschuurde betonvloer met de messing tussenstrips. Een deel van het werk is ter plekke gestort, en een deel is prefab in onze werkplaats in Obdam gemaakt. Logistiek was dit best een uitdaging. Om het centrum van Amsterdam zo min mogelijk te belasten zijn veel prefab onderdelen via het water getransporteerd.<\/p>\n<p>Tijdens de bouw van het verblijf bleken er soms bestaande kabels en leidingen te liggen die vooraf niet bekend waren. Daarom is het ontwerp een aantal keer aangepast. Gelukkig was iedereen daar flexibel in en leverde dit geen problemen op voor de samenwerking. Op 5 oktober 2023 is het leeuwenverblijf in ARTIS
